Nalanda Open University, Bihar was established in March, 1987 by the Government of Bihar. Founded in the 5th Century A.D., Nalanda is a well known ancient learning center. 2,000 Teachers and 10,000 Students from the globe mainly Buddhist people lived and studied at Nalanda, and is recognised as the first Residential International University of the World.
