The university of Jiwaji was established in 1964 and has become one of the largest institution of higher learning in Madhdya Pradesh. Presently the university is made up of 12 faculties 34 School of Studies with 88 courses and more than 400 colleges along with centre of distance learning programe. While various department and colleges are spread across the 8 districts of Gwalior–Chambal region in Madhya Pradesh, a computer network links them so that examination and other work to be done smoothly.
