CAT 2014 Last Minutes Tips and Tricks to Crack the Exam
CAT 2014 exam is just around the corner and candidates must try the previous years CAT Papers and should solve many mock test papers for the CAT 2014 exam so as to get an overview of what the CAT question pattern could contain.
CAT, which stands for the Common Admission Test, is an aptitude test for shortlisting management students for admissions to any of the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management).
CAT 2014 paper has undergone various changes for the candidates ready to appear in CAT 2014 exam, here are a few last days preparation tips for CAT 2014 exam:
Questions framed from five broad areas namely - Verbal ability and reasoning, reading comprehension, quantitative skills, data interpretation and logical reasoning. All the questions would be of multiple-choice type with optional answer choices. Test duration increased to 170 minutes as compared to last year's 140 minutes and time duration of the CAT 2014 examination increased by 30 more minutes. So number of questions have also increased.
Time Management: CAT 2014 paper gives 'Section flexibility' to candidates i.e. one can attempt any section first. This will help to complete the paper on the basis of time allocated by candidates to different sections but at the same time candidates must note that with increase in time and section flexibility the number of questions have also increased so devote equal time for all the sections.
Number of Questions: A total 50 questions in each section as against 30 questions as compared to previous year CAT exams. Tricky questions tend to take time so just move on to the rest of the questions and when you're done with them, return to the untouched questions and try to solve them calmly.
CAT Practice Papers: Pick and solve as many as CAT mock tests possible every day. This will help in clearing your concepts for the CAT 2014 exam.
Work Smart: The reading comprehension section has comprehensions from various subjects. So student from a particular department are not supposed to have in-depth knowledge of any particular subject. The trick is to divide the question on the basis of type like you must pick factual questions first than those which require interpretation.
Pick the best questions: Since there is -1 for every wrong question, it is very important to pick best 35-40 questions out of total 50. Attempt those that you know the correct answer only. Remember 'No mark is better than negative mark'
