JEE Advanced 2015 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates, appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2015 exam, must adhere the five criteria. The JEE Advanced 2015 exam date is on May 24, 2015. IIT JEE 2015 Advanced five eligibility criteria are given below:
To be eligible for JEE Advanced 2015, candidates must have appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in all the subjects in either 2014 or 2015. Also, candidates who appeared for the first time in their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in 2013 or earlier are not eligible to apply. However, you must note that candidates whose Class 12 (or equivalent) examination board results for the academic year 2012-13 were announced after June 2013 are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2015 exam.
Candidates, who wish to appear in the examination, should have been born on or after October 1, 1990 if belonging to the General or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1985 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times. It means that JEE Advanced 2015 should be either the candidate's first attempt or the second consecutive attempt.
Candidates appearing in the examination should not have taken admission (irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the programme) or even accepted admission by paying admission fee at any of the IITs or ISM in the past; even candidates whose admission was cancelled are not eligible to apply. However, if any candidate is admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2014, he or she can apply and appear in JEE Advanced 2015 exam.
Also, candidates should be among the top 1,50,000 (all categories included) in JEE (Main) 2015. The various categories percentages of candidates is given below:
50.5% for GEN (from the common merit list),
27% for OBC-NCL,
15% for SC
7.5% for ST.
3% horizontal reservation for PwD candidates.
JEE Advanced 2015 paper will be held on May 24, 2015. Paper I will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and Paper II from 2 pm to 5 pm. The JEE Advanced 2015 results are expected to be declared by June 18, 2015.
