CAT 2014 Exam Results, CAT 2014 Scorecard
CAT 2014 exam results are soon coming up. CAT exam result helps candidates for gettiing admissions in any of the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management).
Scoring and Equating:
The CAT scores of the candidates are run via a process of Normalization. This process adjust for location and scale differences of score distributions across different forms and for short listing candidates, the scaled scores obtained by this process are converted into percentiles.
While publishing the CAT result, scaled scores for each section (Section I: Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, section II: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning) and total score along with the percentile are published.
Normalization process of scoring is an established practice for comparing candidate scores across multiple Forms and is adopted by other large educational selection tests conducted in India such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
Marking Scheme:
Three points are awarded for every correct answer. The total maximum score in CAT 2014 will be 300 and the total number of questions are 100. The CAT 2014 test had two sections of 50 questions each namely Quantitative Ability (QA) and Data Interpretation (DI) and the other section included Verbal Ability (VA) and Logical Reasoning (LR).
There is no penalty for unanswered questions and one point is deducted for each wrong answer given.
