UPSC CDS October 2016 Exam Date, UPSC CDS 2016 Apply Online
The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS October) exam date has been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC CDS 2016 exam will be held on October 23. CDS is a national level examination for recruitment to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers' Training Academy. The CDS exam is held twice a year (February and October/November).
UPSC CDS Selection Criteria:
Selection procedure comprises of written examination, interview/intelligence test/personality test, document verification and medical examination. Candidates who pass the written test need to appear for the interview and group discussion. The CDS interview is held for a duration of five days.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Academy: Candidates who wish to apply must be holding a degree from a recognised university or its equivalent.
Naval Academy: Candidates who wish to apply must be a BE graduate from a recognised university/institution .
Air Force Academy: Candidates who wish to apply must be a graduate from a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics at Class 12 level or should be an Engineering graduate.
The candidates studying in final year/semester degree can also apply.
UPSC CDS Paper pattern
The CDS 2016 examination will have have objective-type paper (multiple choice question) format. The CDS written exam for the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy contains questions based on the subjects like General Knowledge, English and elementary Mathematics.
Each section duration is of two hours and carry 300 marks in total.
