This year, a total of 69186 candidates had applied for the SET examination.

Pass percentage:
The total pass percentage is at 3.92 per cent.

MH SET exam is held to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the post of assistant professorship in the universities and colleges of Maharashtra and Goa.

Savitribai Phule Pune University was earlier known as the University Of Pune. The Government of Maharashtra, Higher and Technical Education and Employment Department nominated the University of Pune as the State Agency for conducting the State Eligibility Test (SET). The University got accredited by UGC as the State Agency for conducting the SET Examination for the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of Goa.
